HL-Hydraulics has invested in a large stock of induction-hardened piston rod material

To improve customer service and reduce lead times, HL-Hydraulics has invested in a large stock of induction-hardened piston rod material, now stored locally in Finland. This new warehouse setup means better availability and faster hydraulic cylinder servicing for customers.

Induction-hardened piston rods are commonly used in high-wear machinery, such as excavators and other heavy-duty equipment.

Previously, this material was sourced individually from Central European suppliers, with delivery times of up to two weeks. Under the new stock model, HL-Hydraulics customers can access this material much faster.

In addition to the most common metric sizes, the warehouse also includes key imperial sizes: 2″, 2.5″, 3″, and 4″.

The repair chrome plating service will remain available alongside the production of replacement rods. The best option—new rod or repair—will be decided case by case with the customer, based on damage, timing, and cost.

Available rod blank sizes (ø = rod diameter in millimeters) are listed below. Stock levels will be updated as demand for special sizes becomes apparent.
